IMAG Projects

The Idaho Metal Arts Guild has participated in many projects which serve to promote interest and educate the public about the field of metal arts

Here's a sampling of the projects we have been involved with:

December 2004 and 2005 - Handmade metal Christmas Ornament Silent Auction with a percentage of proceeds to the Idaho Food Bank.

February 2004 through 2008 - Idaho Gem Show, Display of Work and in 2007 & 2008, demonstrations of several metalsmithing techniques by IMAG members.

May  2006 and June 2007 - Martini Pick Challenge (see 2006 Boise Weekly Newsbit)  in conjunction with the Annual Martini  Mix-Off. IMAG members created miniature works of art in the form of functional martini picks and sold them at silent auction at the Final Party of the 2006 and 2007 Mix-Offs.

May and June 2008 - IMAG sponsored the 1st Annual Commemorative Martini Pick Design Contest.
Donna Armstrong created the winning design, and IMAG members worked together to produce 50 martini picks of this design. These picks were purchased by the Martini Mix-Off and are being sold at the Martini Mix-Off's preliminary events on May 8, 15 and 22, and at the Final Party on June 6.

May and June 2008 - IMAG sponsors the 3rd Annual Martini Pick Challenge, with unique martini picks, designed and created by IMAG members and sold at silent auction at the Martini Mix-Off's Final Party on June 6.

This year, we add  another facet to this event. IMAG members will Alter, Bedeck and Be-Daring as they transform basic stainless steel martini cups into works of art!  Both friendly competitions have been rolled into
(the idaho) 2008 Art of the Martini and all these wonderful and creative martini cups and picks will be available at the Silent Auction on June 6.
